FLN-MAR Provides a Customer with the Right Hose at the Right Time

The Customer

Based in East Granby, Connecticut, MP Systems designs rugged, dependable high-pressure coolant systems, chillers and accessories for machine tools. The company’s systems frequently play a crucial role in improving the performance and efficiency of CNC machines. Commonly used in machining operations to cool and lubricate cutting tools while controlling temperature, the systems effectively remove chips from the cutting zone and even reduce machining time.

The Challenge

MP Systems was facing an issue with certain hoses another vendor had supplied. The hoses were prone to hardening and becoming brittle, which would lead to cracks and require replacements—causing disruptions in customer operations and incurring additional costs. At the time, MP Systems used some of FLN-MAR’s other offerings within their systems, so the team was very familiar with FLN-MAR’s sales representative Brian Krok.

During one of his regular stock-check visits to the facility, the MP Systems team informed Brian of the issue they were experiencing with the products they received from another vendor. Brian proposed using Toyox hoses as a replacement. These hoses, created in Japan, are specifically designed to withstand the challenging conditions of CNC machining, including exposure to coolants, oils and chips. They are made from high-quality materials that offer exceptional resistance to abrasion, chemicals and heat, ensuring their durability and longevity. They’re also translucent, allowing machine operators to preemptively see potential build-up within the hose.
